Sheet metalworking is the process of forming flat sheets of metal (typically between 0.15 mm and 10 mm in thickness) into components and structures of various shapes.A common material for this process is a flat metal sheet.Sheet metal processing is used to make shells, bases, brackets, stampings, curls, and more.The process can also be used for decorative purposes, such as creating patterns on metal plates.

Suitable material for sheet metal parts

SPCC (1018)

Mainly used for electroplating and baking varnish parts, low cost, easy to shape, material thickness s3.2mm

SHCC

Material thickness 23.0mm is also used for electroplating and baking decorations.Better suited for flat parts.

SECC, SGCC (galvanized steel)

Mainly used for spraying, suitable for surface treatment.

Brass (T2, C110,101, etc.)

Mainly conductive parts are used, and the surface treatment can be nickel-plated and chrome-plated.

AL (AL6061, AL5052, AL1010, AL1060, AL6063, etc.)

Post-treatment finishes can be done: chrome/nickel/silver plating and anodizing etc.

  • When should I choose CNC machining services?

    1. Machined parts have the true properties of the material you choose.Our process allows you to machine parts from solid plastic blocks and metal blocks in the same time frame.
    2. We mill and turn parts quickly.Typical quantities are one to 200 pieces and manufacturing time is 1 to 3 working days.We offer product developer parts machined from engineering-grade materials suitable for functional testing or end-use applications.
    3. CNC machining is more expensive than plastic 3D printing, but the most viable option for metal vision prototyping given the high cost of metal 3D printing and metal casting.
  • What kind of tolerances can be achieved in production and processing?

    There is no given set of tolerances that works for all processes and materials.In each case, the final tolerance on your part will depend on a number of factors, including but not limited to:
    1. Part size/design geometry/number, type and size
    2. Material/Surface Finish/Manufacturing Process
    3. Once your order is confirmed, we will review your design and provide a design for manufacturing review, pointing out any areas where the required tolerances may not be achieved.It's helpful if you can specify which areas of the design have critical tolerances of necessity, and that can be modified slightly if necessary to reduce the time and cost involved.Here are some general tolerance guidelines:
    4. General tolerances for CNC machining in metals and plastics
    5. Plastic injection resistance
    6. The general tolerance of metal 3D printing is +/- 0.5mm
    7. Expect +/- 0.15% shrinkage for vacuum casting
    8. All manufacturing and technical specifications need to be clearly specified in 2D drawings in order to proceed.
